Hooray For Earth: Rolling/Nectarine

This past summer my roommate and I drove down to Memphis to see Surfer Blood play with The Pains of Being Pure at Heart at some random club. I was really into Surfer Blood at the time and, long story short, they were a huge disappointment (absolutely no energy). The Pains of Being Pure at Heart were okay, but the opener was a band called Hooray For Earth, from Brooklyn, who I had coincidentally downloaded a song of off I think Hype Machine a few months earlier, completely blew both of the other well known bands out of the water. Their eighties-throwback, trip-hop style was really unique and I instantly became a fan. Here’s Hooray For Earth doing my favorite song from their latest EP, Momo, called “Rolling/Nectarine”. Hopefully you can get past the terrible filming by the Pitchfork crew.

They also have a pretty great Big Ugly Yellow Couch Session here
